Sick Time Off (STO) Policy
Summary
North Harbor Wealth Management provides Sick Time to allow employees to receive pay during absences due to illness or injury.
Eligibility
Policy
An employee may use sick time for periodic absences of one week or less if the absence is for any of the following reasons:
· Diagnosis, care or treatment of a personal illness or injury
· Diagnosis, care or treatment of the illness or injury of a qualifying family member: child, spouse, parent, or any other family member as defined by an applicable
state or municipal sick leave law or ordinance.
· Preventative or routine medical or dental care for oneself or qualifying family member.
· Care or assistance for oneself or a qualifying family member related to domestic abuse, sexual assault, harassment, or similar safety issues.
An employee may not use sick time for more than one regularly scheduled work week during any given absence period, unless approved for an applicable leave of absence.
An employee who is or expects to be absent for more than one workweek must apply for a leave of absence. Reasonable notice of being out of the office is expected.
An employee who is on a leave of absence over year-end will receive the next year’s sick time allotment only upon physically returning to work.
Note: The company regards sick time over-usage as non-compliance with its standards of personal conduct. An employee who has used more than the available balance of
sick time during a given year may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Communicable Diseases
In order to ensure a sanitary environment for clients and staff, staff members with symptoms or signs of communicable disease or infected skin lesions will not be permitted
to work and will require clearance from a doctor before they can return to work.
