Maternity/Paternity Leaves of Absence

 Employees requiring time off from work due to having a child may apply for a leave of absence.

 Eligibility

  • Regular Employees scheduled at 20 or more hours per week – Eligible for Leave of absence

  • Regular Employees scheduled at less than 20 hours per week – Ineligible for Leave of absence

  • Temporary Employees and interns regardless of scheduled hours – Ineligible for Leave of absence

 Policy

All eligible employees will qualify for 6 weeks maternity leave and 3 weeks paternity leave. You are to use your PTO/STO balance towards the first portion of your leave.

North Harbor Wealth Management will pay for the second 50% of your leave at your usual salary. See examples below:

 Ex. 1) Employee has 2 weeks of unutilized PTO, 1 week of unutilized STO, and takes a Maternity leave:

  • Week one and two – Paid – utilizes 2 weeks of PTO

  • Week three – Paid – utilizes 1 week of STO

  • Week four through six – Paid – paid by NHWM

 

Ex. 2) Employee has 1 week of unutilized PTO, 1 week of unutilized STO, and takes a Maternity leave:

  • Week one – Paid – utilizes 1 week of PTO

  • Week two – Paid – utilizes 1 week of STO

  • Week three through five – Paid – paid by NHWM

  • Week six – Unpaid – no remaining PTO/STO – employee may stay on leave unpaid or return to work early.

PTO must be used first, followed by STO, and then supplemental pay by North Harbor Wealth Management.
