Drug and Alcohol Policy
Summary
North Harbor Wealth Management is committed to protecting the safety, health and well-being of all employees and other individuals in our workplace. The company regards unlawful use and abuse of controlled substances and alcohol as serious social, economic, business and medical problems. Improper use of such substances at work has the potential to adversely affect the company, its employees, individual job performance, customers and the community, and will not be tolerated. This policy is intended to balance the company’s respect for individuals with the need to maintain an alcohol- and drug-free environment.
Scope
Everyone who works at a North Harbor Wealth Management location is responsible for complying with this policy.
Policy
North Harbor Wealth Management prohibits the unlawful use, possession, manufacture, dispensation or distribution of controlled substances, or impairment caused by any controlled substance or alcohol under any of the following circumstances:
While Conducting business for the company
While on company premises at any time
Whenever representing the company in any capacity, such as attending company-sponsored offsite activities (moderate consumption of alcoholic beverages
provided by the company at company sponsored activities is permissible).
Employees are required to abide by this policy as a condition of employment. Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Legal Requirement
The federal government has enacted the Drug-Free Workplace Act, which requires employees to notify their manager within five day of any drug-related convictions for violations occurring on company premises.
